Head MicroGel Extreme Pro Tennis Racquet The Head MicroGel Extreme Pro is one of the most anticipated new racquets for 2007, and is used by Ivan Ljubicic. The Extreme Pro is Head’s venture into offering a true ‘tweener frame and is slightly heavier than the Extreme-100 sq. in. head, 27″ length, 24mm/26mm beam, and 11.7 oz. strung weight.
Another improvement Head has made with the new Extreme to traditional racquets is immediately visible: the geometrics of the racquet head size are changed making it wider and rounder. This increased width can allow the ball to slide across a wider stringbed, generating greater spin velocity and providing more power.
The Head Extreme also offers aggressive, competitive players ultimate feel and unique touch through a new patented technology called MicroGel. When combined with carbon composite fibers in the racquet head, MicroGel deforms and compresses upon ball impact, uniformly absorbing and distributing the impact load around the entire frame, creating a rock-solid feel while offering extra stability against twisting.
